Best Idea and Business Plan by a Female Entrepreneur
We are proud to announce that Zoe won “Best Idea and Business Plan by a Female Entrepreneur” in the annual St Helen’s Chamber of Commerce competition to create Social Enterprise in the region. She was presented with an oversized cheque by John Bird, founder of The Big Issue.
Her business plan outlined a new ‘Food and Life Centre’ for our local community.
The Food and Life Centre would provide:
* Organic fruit, nuts, seeds, vegetables and equipment at cost/wholesale prices.
* Classes in raw food prep, vegetable growing, making dehydrators, conscious health and positive living.
* Raw food library, books, DVD’s and meeting rooms.
* Different support/sharing/talking groups for different needs.
* Raw food parties and all kinds of gatherings/celebrations of Life!
The Chamber folks are also currently tempting us with grant money that they say will be easy to get with her Business Plan. We’ll let you know where that goes.
The judges of the competition were enthused about the idea of raw food and were eager to try some. The wife of one of the judges is even coming to our next Pot Luck!
If you want to make raw food your business, then why not get in touch with your local Chamber of Commerce and ask them about grants and loans available for social enterprises. Let?s flood the country with raw food community projects!
